You may also have seen Telba on the menu. Telba is a traditional healthy beverage made from flax and honey. It’s possible to make a creamier version of Telba that’s a great healthy meal substitute or quick breakfast; it’s also great on a hot day when you want to grab something cold and refreshing. Think of this as a cool summer ‘do for your Telba!
Thick, Creamy Telba
4 Tablespoons ground Telba (slow-roasted flaxseed)
2 Cups Water
1 Tablespoon Honey
Boil 4 tbls of Telba with 2 cups of water for 1 minute. Pour ingredients into cup and add honey. Serve hot or put everything in a container with an airtight lid to shake ingredients. Let ingredients sit in the refrigerator overnight. Once you’ve let it sit for a while, you can filter out the flax sediment OR you can just drink it as-is. The extra fiber and lignans in the sediment are super healthy, so don’t sweat it if you don’t want to filter out the flax!
